read and be appreciative of it! J Here I am selling my limited edition, Alfa Romeo 147 Sport, one of only 450 ever made. It is a 5 door in black, covering only 46k miles. (Still in use so may rise slightly) The cheapest cars on eBay are £5500-£6500 with comparable miles – mine really will be a steal for somebody. The car has not had any tasteless additions to it – everything on the car is as it was fitted in the factory. Unfortunately the car needs a minor repair, although i`ve been driving it for weeks as it stands, and it is a Category D as a result of a third party hitting me. I bought this car in June after searching long and hard for the right one. It is a pleasure to drive and benefits from a 120HP 1.9JTDM diesel engine, which is responsive yet economical, regularly returning up to 50mpg – over this if you are stick to a steady 60mph on a run as I have been doing! The car has all the books and manuals and a set of interior mats (not pictured) If you are a Manchester United fan (i`m not), the number plate may interest you – it reads MUFC if you take away the year suffix – this is completely by chance and it’s not a private plate. I will disclose the full registration on request to genuine buyers. This alone is probably worth something to the right person! The car was serving me really well until I was driving home in early January, and a third party pulled out and hit the passenger side of my car. I’ve been driving it ever since and will continue to do so until it’s sold. In all honesty, there isn’t an awful lot of damage, see the photos 7-12 - I’ve been as thorough as I can. (If you want more send me your e-mail - I have lots saved on the laptop) I’ve been told it’ll need: A Passenger Front Door A Rear Door (if it won’t repair) A Wing (or a repair to it) Sill section repair or replaced A tiny repair to the rear quarter A little DIY touch up to rear alloy. The lady that has hit me has gone through her insurance, and when the assessor came round to view the damage he told me it would be a Category D write off. The insurance company have given me a settlement for the repair costs and let me keep it, however I`ve opted to sell instead of organising the repair myself. I’m looking for a bigger car now, maybe a 3 series, so have decided to sell the Alfa. If you have something interesting you`re looking to sell, try me. (within eBay rules naturally.) Anyway, I’ve worked out you could literally repair the car for next to nothing using genuine Alfa parts from eBay. Everything bar the wing is the same on the 2001-2006 Alfa’s which are everywhere on eBay. If you can get a decent bodyshop to spray panels on the cheap, there’s a LOT of money in the car either for re-sale or driving yourself. Do your research on eBay and check my below findings out for yourself! - Doors are anywhere between £40-£70 each (there’s two in the same paint code as my car on eBay for £65 each delivered!) -A wing for £50 (brand new ones are only £110 delivered from Alfa) -The Sill section - breakers yards seem to want £30-40 for one if you don’t want to repair it Then factor in the miniscule repair to the rear quarter for around £50-£80, you can probably repair for £400-£500 (or less if you’re in the trade / know what you’re doing with a socket set!) It is in very clean condition, with the usual age related stonechips etc. for a late 57 plate car. I applied paint protector when I bought the car (similar to Autoglym Lifeshine) and it has been washed and hovered every week without fail. It’s never been smoked in, I have no kids so the rear seats are as new, and my two cats wouldn’t appreciate being given a ride in it! Obviously, I can’t offer a warranty and it’s sold as seen, being a category D write off. I encourage you to come and view the car regardless as it really will be a great car again once repaired. and I cannot justify spending more money as just received a new company car. | Good points: | Always start’s first time and runs lovely | Had Master Service in June 2011 which also included | - Front and rear pads replaced | - Front upper wishbone including ball joints (both sides) | - 4 new Bridgestone tyres (205/55/16) | - Front CV boot (both sides) | - Front Brake Discs (both sides) | - New Rear Brake callipers (both sides) | - Cambelt kit changed including water pump | This amounted to over £1,500 in bills | Body has very little rust | Black leather interior in good condition (some age wear on drivers seat) | It Failed MOT on: | - Park brake under minimum levels - Probably just need tightening or new cable should be cheap | - Centre exhaust box has leak - Not looked but either needs to be replaced or welded. This also had impact on exhaust emission test | - Nearside front and rear floor plan showed corrosion - Not looked but it was mentioned that a local welder would be probably able to fix the problem to pass MOT | - Registration plate character incorrectly spaced - This was a private plate on the car when I purchased. This is a quick fix at the local Halfords. I`ve been getting a consistent 60mpg on the a roads to and from work everyday, averaging 45-40 mpg around town. This is a nice car, the model that Alfa started to turn things around and challenge the Golf. A very reliable car and stylish too, finished with Italians styling, you`d expect this on higher level cars. In Normal mode, the steering is light and comfortable, and the traction control kicks in as normal.In Dynamic mode, the car feels completely different, the throttle response is sharpened, the steering becomes heavier and more sporty and the traction control is less intrusive for a more spirited drive. The Dashboard also displays a boost gauge for the turbo.In the All weather mode, the traction control kicks into over drive to ensure the safest handling of the car through poor road conditions. I have taken great care of my car and am hoping to find a buyer that really appreciates the effort and time that has gone into it. I have dedicated a lot of time to modify it tastefully to look like a high range performance model by Alfa Romeo. The Rear diffuser was part of the Lester body kit, and was intended to have a dual exit twin tip exhaust system, however after weeks of research, I found that the cut out for the honey comb mesh section matched the dimensions of the Megane RS exhaust tip. I bought a Megane RS diffuser and transferred the exhaust tip across. I wanted it to be something completely different and there is no other MiTo around with a center exit trapezium shaped exhaust. I also installed a 5 way flick switch unit for the cigarette lighter to run the various additional lights and equipment in the car which is neatly hidden away behind one of the foot well panels. It allows you to hook up your sat nav or iPod charger etc without untidy cables running all around the car. It is a real head turner, my local Alfa garage always tell me they get people coming in asking for a Sport Limited after they`ve seen me driving around in it. I reckon I have spent around 4 grand on the car to get it to what it is today. I am a Product Design Engineer student and hence transfer a lot of my skills across to working on my car. I loved that my car was truly unique and one of a kind. The exhaust note is awesome, it`s a nice, deep throaty sound and gives a nice burble under engine braking and gear changes and occasionally an awesome sporty bang during a fast gear change. The Air induction kit also gives a nice blow off sound during gear changes. It really looks and sounds the part. Its currently done 44k miles, the majority of which are motorway miles commuting to and from Southampton on weekends which was 100 miles door to door. It`s still running as sweet as ever, I am a great car enthusiast and have taken great care of it.As I mentioned above, it has had 2 brand new Pirelli P zero neros on the front and a new set of OMP performance drilled and grooved discs along with performance brake pads all round. It has got 8 months tax remaining, 10,000 miles until its next service, Still under the manufacturers 3 year warranty for 8 months, and 8 months until its MOT. This car is truly one of a kind. The performance and handing are on par with the cloverleaf model. A timed 0-60 run was recorded at 7.5 seconds, and there is plenty of high end torque too. last year, and have now moved jobs and live 300 metres from my work, hence the very very reluctant sale.Dont mistake this model for one of the basic models with the small wheels and bland interior. This is the Ti model, with the best and highest spec of them all. 19" wheels, lowered suspension, Brembo brakes, side skirts, chrome mirrors and the red logo leather seats.The only option my car does not have is the factory sat nav, and by all accounts it is rubbish anyway.Please dont be put off by the high mileage, as I have been a mechanic for 23 years and do not buy rubbish. This car has a substantial full service history. It was a Lloydstsb district managers car before me and it did 2 journeys a week between Windsor and Newcastle. As you probably know, 95% of wear on an engine is in the first 3 minutes of start up. This car does not smoke in the slightest. It is mechanically in A1 condition. Everything that has needed doing has been done due to it being a Lloyds lease car.The cambelt kit was done at 82000 miles, and the clutch and dual mass flywheel were done at 87000 miles. These are the important ones to note.The only flaw with the car is the laquer which is peeling from the front bumper and edge of the bonnet due to stones on the motorway. There are no dents, car park dints or scratches at all.The Leather seats and interior are as new. The back seats look like they have never been sat in.The things that I have done to the car are:1: fitted a twin exit exhaust to make it look like the 2.4. (the 1.9 only has one tailpipe).2: one of the main problems with modern diesels are when the DPF`s (diesel particulate filter)block up and cause the engine to go into limp mode and is very costly to repair. Mainly caused by short journeys or town driving. I have had this removed and had a bypass pipe fitted, and at the same time had the engine remapped for more power and torque(and better mpg) to 195 bhp. The dpf software has been removed also. I did this to my previous SEAT Leon diesel as that one did block. The one I removed from this car is not blocked and will be available with the car if you want it, or I can refit it for you.There is a lot of literature about this problem on google, so go ahead and look up "DPF problems". This can never happen to my car now, and it is not an MOT requirement to have the DPF on the car. This was done by an Alfa Romeo specialist, not a back street garage.The car has many extras like the Blue and Me, which connects by bluetooth into your phone and you control your phone using the steering wheel controls and facia computer. It also has a USB connector in the glove box to play your music and stuff through. It has parking sensors, hill start brakes, auto wipers, auto lights, anti dazzle mirrors, remote deadlocking, electric folding mirrors, heated seats, electric everything, the list goes on. The picture speak for themselves. Please do not make any silly offers as this car with lower mileage would go for around £2000 more. And remember that the lower mileage ones will have done a lot of stop and starts, and the engine will probably be more worn than this one.Come and have a look before bidding, as you will love the car when you see it.I am a very honest and genuine ebayer, just look at my seller feedback.
