| | ALFA ROMEO 147 JTD 16v Mjet Lusso .
Excellent Condition, Full Black Leather Interior etc
Welcome to the auction for my 2003 (53) Alfa Romeo 147 JTD 16v Multijet Lusso.Firstly, my reason for sale: I haven`t lost my job, I`m not moving abroad ...> and my Missus isn`t pregnant. The simple truth is that a recent impulse purchase means that my little Alfa now needs to go to a new home. I`ve since regretted this impulse purchase, but having not been able to sell it and not being able to justify having unused vehicles sat around indefinitely forces this sale.Whilst in my ownership this lovely little car has proven both comfortable and surprisingly fun. Being the 138 bhp 16v multijet version (rather than the vastly inferior 8v versions) provides both great performance as well as a genuinely acheivable 50 mpg fuel economy. The `Lusso` model has refinements such as electric windows, digital climate control and cruise control. Additonal options fitted to this car include the original Alfa Sport 17" alloy wheels, ipod interface and full black leather interior. As can be seen from the pictures, the car is in excellent condition both inside and out. The car is MOT`d until 08/11/2012 and taxed until the end of February 2012. The only advisory issued on the MOT was corrosion to the exhaust tailpipe. This really does only extend to the tailpipe - the back box itself is perfectly fine. The only other negative point to mention is that the air conditioning doesn`t blow very cold. The compressor etc engages and runs like it should, and the system will only require a regas. This was just one of those `little` things that I was meaning to get round to doing.Recent work on the car includes: Two recent 215/45/17 Kumho Ecsta Sport tyres, Silicon lower boost pipe, both upper and lower front wishbones, both front and rear droplinks and both front wheel bearings. On 07/12/2011 both the front and rear brake discs and pads were also replaced. On 05/01/2012 the car was sent to Autolusso to investigate a poor running problem. Much work on the fuel system ensued and £1123.95 spent means that the car now runs perfectly. A member of staff at Autolusso actually commented to the vehicles excellent condition (with specific regard to the turbo etc - parts of which you would expect to be worn in a car of this age) and how well the car now runs. I have also recently replaced all four shock absorbers and springs with Koni FSD and Eibach Pro items. These were an indulgence rather than a necessity, but at about 100,000 miles I felt the original items were getting a little tired and the fitment of the new suspension has ensured that the car now handles and rides superbly. A full wheel alignment correction was carried out at Autolusso after fitting. These are the only modifications to the car.I have also replaced various other little bits and pieces such as the front and rear badges, number plates, wiper blades etc and the car has been regularly polished to maintain its beautiful metallic black paintwork. The car has full service history and a large amount of other receipts and paperwork are present for other work and maintenance carried out. The last service was in January 2012 at 114,339 miles and the cambelt (inc waterpump) was changed on 16/04/2010 at 69,001 miles (next due at 141,000 miles). As you can see I`ve invested a large amount of time and money into the maintenance of this car and it`s lovely looks, excellent drive and strong performance are all a testament to this. I have no doubt that the new owner will be very pleased with their purchase, as this lovely little car should provide reliable, fun and economical transport for a very long time to come. Please don`t hesitate to email me if you have any questions. Thanks for looking and good luck! Please no overseas bidders, or those with no or excessive negative feedback. I will not arrange for the car to be delivered abroard, and will require collecting from Oxford. I will require a £200 deposit paid via Paypal within 24 hours of the end of the auction, and the remainder paid in cash on collection. Sorry for all of the conditions, but we`ve all been the victim of irresponsible ebayers before. Thanks. X

For sale is a 53 reg Alfa Romeo 147 1.9ltr 16v M-Jet this has 140bhp beneath the bonnet so isn`t a sluggish diesel and you still get the mpg of a diesel. ...> I`ve been getting a consistent 60mpg on the a roads to and from work everyday, averaging 45-40 mpg around town. This is a nice car, the model that Alfa started to turn things around and challenge the Golf. A very reliable car and stylish too, finished with Italians styling, you`d expect this on higher level cars. The paint work is dent free and as you can see from the pictures has a nice sheen. The car is MOT`d till 22/8/2012 and taxed up to the end of 2/2012The car has: Power SteeringElectric Windows Dual sided Air conditioningCd playerRadioSteering wheel controlsTrip computerSpare Wheel (space saver)2 keys - remote lockingFor sale at £3100 X

| | 2004 "54" ALFA ROMEO 147 LUSSO 1.9 JTD M-JET 16V in BLACK EXCELLENT CONDITION .
New MOT, 6 Speed Gearbox, Recent Cambelt kit change.
This 2004 "54" Alfa Romeo is in excellent condition throughout. It has the 1.9 JTDM 16v engine with a 6 speed gearbox, this makes the car very economical ...> and cheap to run. The cambelt was very recently changed at a Alfa Romeo specialist with all pulleys and water pump included. This Alfa feels superb to drive, like a car with very low miles. This car has a full MOT history. The bodywork is in excellent condition throughout, with almost no details on the car and a very deep shine. The interior is all very clean throughout and everything is working as it should be. X

Expert Rating: The Performance Diesel Hatch Is Now An Accepted Part Of The Motoring Landscape. Fitted To The Latest Alfa Romeo 147, The Italian Companys 1.9 JTD 16v M-JET Unit Is One Of The Best Of The Bunch. By Andy EnrightIts a mark of how far weve come that 150bhp in a small hatchback rarely raises eyebrows these days. A solid 200bhp seems to be the entry point to the brigade of seriously sporting shopping trolleys, but the rules get a little skewed if youve got a diesel under your bonnet. Majoring on torque rather than power, a 150bhp diesel hatch can make its 200bhp petrol cousin feel a little reedy. The Alfa Romeo 147 1. 9 JTD 16v M-JET (to give it its full title) is just such a car. If you like your hatches to feel muscular and look the part, this could well be the best buy around at present. The European public have certainly proved receptive to diesels in this class. Whereas overall numbers of cars sold declined recently, diesel sales have grown rapidly, rising from 15 per cent to 25 per cent over the past three years. In the near the figure is expected to rise to 30 per cent. Whilst a fair degree of these buyers are of the diesel old school looking for a car that merely cuts fuel bills, theres a burgeoning number of drivers who appreciate the driving pleasure that a modern diesel can give and would choose one over a petrol engine, fuel economy notwithstanding. The powerplant fitted to this flagship diesel 147 is certainly modern. The Fiat Group, of which Alfa Romeo is a key constituent, was first to market with a direct injection diesel way back in 1986 and was last year awarded the Economist Innovation Award for ground-breaking work in developing common-rail diesel technology. Alfa Romeo brought the first JTD common rail engine to the UK in 1997, plumbed into the front of an Alfa 156. The latest development is a sixteen-valve 150bhp Multijet version of that engine which offers more power, reduced noise levels yet still posts competitive fuel economy and emissions figures. Its the same as the 140bhp unit offered in the pre-facelift 147 from summer 2003 but a revised injection strategy has boosted the output while reducing noise and vibration. The Multijet system takes the idea of pilot injection squirting a small amount of fuel into the cylinder to prime the combustion chamber for the main ignition process and refines it still further. In this instance, the main injection is divided into a series of smaller injections, allowing smoother, more gradual combustion that utilises fuel more efficiently. The electronic control units therefore have to be astonishingly precise. Whereas before the time lag between injections was a relatively yawning 1,500 microseconds, the response time has been slashed by a factor of 10. A variable geometry turbocharger and a high pressure direct injection system make the 150bhp output possible but the key is the 305Nm torque figure. This means that the 147JTD 16v feels gutsier than the old 250bhp 3.2-litre V6 147 GTA model. "Its well built, halfway affordable, quick, economical, environmentally clean and it even handles reasonably well. Its a car that leaves you looking for the catch"Youll believe that too when you drive the car. Fire it up and the engine settles into an unobtrusive background thrum that never threatens to rattle the expensively moulded dashboard. Yes, you can tell its sups from the black pump, but its hardly what youd describe as coarse. On the move the engine remains pleasantly muted without the whistles and bellows of many powerful turbodiesel cars. Between 1,750 and 3,250rpm, theres a huge shove in the back, the elastic power delivery catapulting the Alfa down the road in a deliciously addictive manner. Even in sixth gear, the 147JTD 16v will dispatch the 50-75mph increment in just 7.9 seconds. From rest, the 147JTD 16v will accelerate to 60mph in 8. 8 seconds and run onto a top speed of 129mph. Average fuel economy is pegged at 47.9mpg and emissions amount to a mere 157g/km. If you want to get the power on the ground even more effectively, theres a Q2 version offered for a £300 premium with a clever limit slip differential. The rest of the car conforms to the formula that won the 147 the 2001 European Car of The Year award at its original launch. If you havent driven an Alfa in the last, say, five years, you may well be in for something of a surprise. Alfas understanding of how to screw together a decent quality car has come on leaps and bounds. Alfa hasnt forgotten its heritage, however, and has built upon the inherent romantic appeal of Italian cars. Featuring the classic cowled fascia dials, the 147 also encompasses some determinedly high-tech touches. Six airbags come as standard, as does dual-zone climate controlled air conditioning. State-of-the-art multiplex wiring has made possible the option of a full-screen voice activated satellite navigation system with an inbuilt Bose stereo and GSM telephone system. Its not cheap, but the satellite navigation setup is one of the best available anywhere, as is the Vehicle Dynamic Control, which is a stability control system which aims to prevent the 147 spinning. Its on a par with the PSM program used by Porsche in the way that it credits the driver with some leeway before gently stepping in to restore equilibrium if progress is overenthusiastic. Even Turismo standard equipment includes follow me home headlights, remote central locking with an immobiliser and alarm and ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution. Opt instead for the Lusso specification and youll also receive automatic dual zone climate control, cruise control, steering wheel mounted audio controls, a CD player and 15-inch alloy wheels. Three and five door models are available at prices that open at £17,350 for the three-door and rise to £19,350 for the five-door with the Q2 differential. The Alfa 147JTD 16v is the hatch that gives you it all. It looks the part, its well built, halfway affordable, quick, economical, environmentally clean and it even handles reasonably well. Its a car that leaves you looking for the catch. Im still looking. After they cleaned it, I noticed that the car in fact became a little more responsive and less black smoke came out of the tail pipe. However I still feel a great loss of power up until it boosts at about 2800-3000 RPM, I don´t know if its me but the car doesn´t feel right, it appears its boosting too late. I'm almost absolutely sure that before my car "boosted" at about 2000-2100 RPM, and now between gear changes, say from 2nd to 3rd, I notice a gap of power and a much longer turbo lag than normal. Can anyone with a similar car bring some light to the subject? Can this be a problem with the MAF sensor, or could it be that the turbo is broken? ( I can hear the turbo whistle at about 2100 rpm but no boost can be felt until it revs to aprox 2800rpm) Thanks in advance... #2 (Post Link) 25-11-2007 kgb Status: looking for a 2.4

Look for dirty oily areas around the pipes...if you see such places...press the pipe fully and look for "holes"...you wont see holes...they split like they have been cut with e very sharp knife...undetectable to naked eye....that is why you need to press the pipe fully and look around it. Just bought an Alfa Romeo 147 1.9 JTD 3dr Lusso and on first impressions I?m delighted. It?s Navy Blue in Colour which sets the car off great against the Cream Leather, its a top of the range model and comes with SAT NAV, Cruise Control, Telephone, full heated Leather Upholstery, trip computer, 16inch Alloy wheels etc. The options are great, although not a requirement for everyone-however I would recommend the leather upholstery as a MUST its fantastic. I test drove many cars before buying, yet decided on the Alfa 147, because it put the biggest smile on my face, it was the nicest car to sit in and felt the best to drive by a long way. Special, powerful and stylish Advantages: Performance, looks / style, feels and looks special, economy, exclusive compared to other hatches Disadvantages: Servicing a little dearer than norm, small boot, a little cramped in the back for adults ...so if you have low or zero no-claims you will pay a high price. My model is the JTDm 16v with 150bhp, not to be confused with the JTD, which has 8 valves, 5 gears (as opposed to 6) and 120bhp. This is a punchy car, with lots of torque for impressive acceleration. It's not supposed to be a hot-hatch or a sports car, but unless you've been driving seriously powerful cars, the pace and grunt will impress you - even if you're not a diesel fan. Try it for yourself. Some dislike the facelift looks of the 2005> models, but I prefer them. The interior materials are improved, the headlights are more effective, and the looks are more aggressive and sculpted. The suspension also received minor mods to improve the ride, which is still quite firm and unforgiving on poor roads in fairness, but I personally like the sporty feel. One thing I must... ellaura 03.09.2010 · Read review Ciao members have rated this review on average helpful Review of Alfa Romeo 147 1.9 JTD PITY IT WASN'T ALFA RACING RED! Advantages: Out of the Norm Styling & Performance Disadvantages: Getting Old Now ...WHAT IS IT? The 147 is Alfa Romeo's compact hatchback, produced in three and five door forms and competing in the Ford Focus / Vauxhall Astra market. This is actually an interesting, diverse and most popular market sector now, outselling all other types of car. The competition is fierce and many of the alternatives, such as the Honda Civic, are new and bang up to date. In 2001 the Alfa 147 was voted European Car of The Year. WHICH SPECIFIC MODEL? The actual car that I am reviewing here is right at the top of the Alfa 147 tree. It is a five door 1.9JTD 150 Lusso. The 1.9JTD 150 has the most powerful two litre version of the now ubiquitous GM (Vauxhall / Saab) engine in it, which was co-developed with Fiat, parent company of Alfa Romeo. Driving here there are remarkably few cars on sale that fall into a middle ground, maybe the only exceptions being the people carriers which are totally unsuited to the hill route, but that is another issue?? ??I'm going to keep you guessing just a little longer as to which camp the brand new Alfa Romeo GT 1.9 JTD falls into. By the time we got around to visiting the Alfa Romeo stand we had already driven a truly amazingly diverse range of cars, from a 6.0 litre W12 Volkswagen Phaeton right through to a 1.3 litre Fiat Panda, all of which you can read about elsewhere. Firstly, what exactly is an Alfa Romeo GT 1.9 JTD 1.9? Well like all other Alfas it is a badge engineered Fiat. It does not look like any... Dealership costs. ...I bought my Alfa 156 2.4 JTD sportwagon, a 2002 model, last year inJune. I have covered nearly 20000 miles in it since then and most of them have been pleasurable and my fuel consumption is 41 MPG. I was worried about buying an Alfa because of the reputation about reliability but after reading up about the 156 diesel, especially the 2.4 I decided to have alook at one. There was one for sale at a local car dealers so I arranged for a test drive and it was a revelation and for £3000 a bit of a bargain, compared to the competition, BMW and Audi, nothing else can compare. I have owned several BMWs and a couple of Audis in my time and I have worked in a BMW and Audi dealership and driven most of what they had on offer. Great cars too, solid and reliable, fast too but German = no fun. Advantages: Pedigree. Stylish. Disadvantages: Insurance costs. Depreciation. ...Two years ago I decided to take the plunge and buy something different, and the Alfa had to be the choice. I purchased a 9 month old, low mileage "Lusso" 2.0ltr saloon version. Having still got the vehicle, how`s it stacked up? Read on for a few home truths after 30,000 trouble-free miles..... Initially the style of the car was a great attraction, not to mention the Alfa pedigree of "exclusivity" and relative scarecity (relatively speaking there are few dealers specialising in this marque). The cars lines are unmatched, being very sleek and aesthetically pleasing from all angles - and that front end is so aggesive! My initial impressions upon driving the car were that of a deceptively spacious interior, affording good driving visibility considering its compact and squat exterior looks. But I have had the pleasure of driving this many a time. I own an Alfa myself, but that's a 147 and a diesel one at that. But it is THIS car, the 156, that got me into Alfa's in the first place. It looks great, even today. Inside and out the aesthetics are very pleasing. I won't dwell on this as it really does speak for itself. The wheels can make a big visual difference; you will probably be most happy with the 'tele dial' alloys, or the 17" 'spoked' wheels. SIt inside and you do get a rather special feeling, again even for an ageing car. Sporty dials, steering wheel, a great wrap-around dash that focuses on the driver? It's all good, though some can't agree with the driving position; for me, it's fine, thankfully. They also fit these cars with different sizes of wheels, some come with the standard 1 inch most come with the larger 16 inch but you can chose to upgrade if you buy new as I did, I went for the awesome looking 18 inch wheels although with the Alfa going through tyres like nothing on earth I often wished I had gone with a cheaper option. When it comes to driving the Alfa it really is an awesome experience well at least the 2.5 V6 that I owned was, this car had frightening power and speed and although I had driven other V6 cars none could come close to the Alfa Romeo. First Impressions: 10/10 This car is pure style to look at from the outside, the car body has a slight concave shape in the doors and all along the side - this gives the car an immediate sense of style and sensuality. The car exudes confidence and individuality from its' external apperance. The front of the car with its' very prominent grill and headlights endowes this car with some serious road presence and again, even more style.
